REFLECTIONS OF THE PAST AND INFINITE POSSIBILITIES OF THE PRESENT

Reflections of the Past and Infinite Possibilities of the Present utilizes recorded and realtime computation processes to portray the relationship between one's own agency within an established system.
The background of each projection consists of a pre-recorded animation of gridded structures. This represents a system or an environment with pre-defined constraints.
The foreground of each projection consists of a realtime computation of a toroid in a state of continuous transformation. This transformation is being driven by a noise algorithm resulting in an ever-evolving form that never repeats. This represents agency and the multitude of actions one can take within the present moment.
The reflections on the toroid are also being computed in realtime. This represents information and the influence our environment has on our choices and actions regardless of the level of agency one has.
RIPPLE
An interactive exploration of social distancing and the physical ripples we create within the fabric of space and time. Ripple explores the new dynamics of how we as humans engage with the space we occupy.
XI
In 1969, the Apollo 11 mission successfully landed humans on the surface of the Moon for the first time. To recreate this historic moment and bring the Moon closer to viewers, a projection has been composed from high resolution images returned by NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter while audio recordings between the astronauts and mission control play in the background. Viewers are able to have a highly accurate and up-close experience of the Moon's entire surface.
